Answering my own question on this; the problem is that the aftermarket magazine catch that comes in the P10F "Competition Ready" model has insufficient "meat" on it to hold the magazine in place. The solution is file the engagement notch out so it's as large as the notch below it on the magazine body. No more issue since I did that.
