Can someone explain what's necessary for me to purchase a firearm in Tennessee after relocation from another state? I guess, what's required for residency?

Hi Steven and welcome. Long guns can be purchased across State line no issue. Handguns can only be purchased in your State of residence of your ID. You would need to acquire Tennessee ID/Drivers License to purchase a pistol in Tennessee. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi Steven, all you need in TN is a gov't issued ID (most use DL)  with your name & current address.

Ahhhh, moved to a Free State, good for you!!!! As mentioned, all you'll need to acquire a pistol is a TN state ID/Driver ID. Good luck in your new Free State!
