to me the FDE color looks like a greenish tan

Fernando, Bud's uses stock photos and although it appears to be more OD green than FDE in the photo the actual handgun will be FDE. I have researched for a MIL-SPEC, MIL-STD and FED STD for the FDE color but so far no luck. There is a FED STD 595 (www.fed-std-595.com/FS-595-Paint-Spec.html) that defines standard colors for U.S. Government. Before I retired I work on several military and government contracts where colors for equipment, vehicles, etc., were referenced back to this FED STD. If you go to a gun shop that has a selection of different brands of handguns (and rifles) in FDE, you will see there are several different shades of brown for this color. The color sometimes varies even within a given brand. Although I believe the stock photo that Bud's used is not FDE, I believe you can be assured that what you receive will be a "FDE" brown color and not green.
