Hi Bart, it has a shorter length of pull of 13". It is also 20 gauge instead of 12 so there's a little less recoil for a youth. Stay safe & have a great day!

Hi Bart, the length of pull which has to do with the length of the buttstock in conjunction to the trigger location makes this a youth model.
