Hi Y"all. A friend of mine just passed away and his wife gave me his Escort shotgun, one of his the questions is that we don't know if is a 12 or a 20 gage it doesn't say it anywhere is there a way to find out by the S. Number?

Hi Alejandro and welcome. You should be able to contact Hatsun/Escort Customer Service at 1.877.278.4448. A quicker method is to just try a 20 gauge and 12 gauge dummy shell or shell. Cheers, stay safe and enjoy!

Hi Alejandro, it should be stamped somewhere on the barrel, look again, it may be covered with dirt/grime. If not, either try a 12 or 20 gauge shell and see which fits, or take it to a gun shop, they can tell you.

it should be stamped on the barrel near the receiver like others have said you can try a 12 or 20 ga shell. which would give you the ga but not the length. Please be aware that a 3 inch shell will fit in a 2 3/4 chamber as the length is AFTER the shell is fired
