• Q: I bought a Gen I pistol a while ago. It was a bear to field strip and even worse to put back together. I know Remington recalled these for several reasons and issues. They supposedly fixed what people were complaining about. So is it any easier to field strip and put back together? Does it still make the web of your shooting had ache?

  sorry it does not come in a plastic case the Remington R51 comes in a remington branded cardboard box

  Wesley, Remington lists the trigger pull ranging from 4.5 to 6.5 pounds and trigger pull distance as 2.73 inches. Many reviews of this pistol I have read listed their measured trigger pull as closer to the 4.0 to 4.1 mark.

• Q: Hello. I really like the look of this gun. I like all metal guns. I like the features and specs of this gun. Would you buy this gun with the history of problems? Do I need to be concerned with the date of manufacture? I need advice from knowledgeable gun people like you. Please help.

  Greg, I have followed the history of the R51 since it was introduced. The number of reported problems has dropped dramatically which leads me to believe Remington has and is addressing reported issues. I say go for it. Now, with that being said, Buds low cost Lifetime Supplemental Warranty seems an attractive option for piece of mind.

• Q: Hello. Reliability problems and Safety concerns are well known with this model. I am interested in purchasing. How can I get information on in stock serial numbers and/or build dates prior to purchase. I do not want a gun with an older build date. It is likely that the gun is being revised as production continues to better quality and reliability. Please help and any information and details regarding the current version of this model will help with my decision. Thank you. Greg

You can contact Buds Customer Service to see if their inventory Manager can verify the approximate date of manufacture of this batch of pistols at 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm Mon-Sat and 11am - 7pm Sun (7 days a week).
