• Q: does this have a threaded barrel for a suppressor? and if so what's a good suppressor for this firearm?

• Q: This Ruger Precision Rifle model is 18004 and when asked Ruger about this model they didn't have it on their records. The closest one was the Ruger Precision Rifle model 18028, so what's the difference?

  Gilbert, Ruger came out with model 18004 in 2016. That was the Gen 2 .308. They then upgraded to Gen 2/3 .308 in model 18028. Model 18001 was Gen 1 and 18004 Gen 2 neither produced any longer. Difference is 18004 had longer keymod rail, 18028 has shorter mlok rail to get optic lower.

  No Gilbert, the scope in the picture is only for marketing purposes. The Ruger Precision Rifle come to you in a 'bare bones' state, so that YOU can build it likeYOU want it. Can you imagine trying to find just one scope, to include with these rifles, that everyone would want or like? Much better that Ruger ship the rifle without a scope, and let the buyer select the scope they want, rather than have everyone pay more for the rifle that comes with a scope most buyers would end up changing anyway. But, fo course, the rifle looks better with hat scope pictured on top ... as it will ultimately end up anyway. I'm personally a big fan of products that let ME design and use the accessories I want on my firearm. So go on and order this bad boy and put the scope YOU want on top of thatreceiver.

• Q: what grain of bullet does ruger recommend in this rifle?..

  It has the fast 1 in 10 twist apparently. This twist rate is meant to handle the heaviest of bullets. The 1 in 10 twist generally prefers 168 match bullets and up. Then again this isn't a .300 mag and you only have a 20 inch barrel, so overstablization shouldn't be a huge problem. It may be comparable to a 24 inch barrel with a 1 in 11 twist. You can try some 150 fmjs and 165 grain hunting bullets to see if they group. It should favor 168s and 175-178 grain match bullets most. It may even preform well with 190 match bullets. The 155 match bullets may definitely be worth a try as well. Stick to the ones with the higher ballistic coefficients (sierra palma match, hornady eld-match, and sierra tipped match kings).

  Hui, yes, this is a bolt action rifle and is not subject to the same restrictions as a "Semi-Auto" Rifle.

• Q: I want to get this rifle in 308 or 6.5, I dont hunt. I just want to bench target shoot paper targets. I like the 6.5, but I feel some places would have that ammo. 308 been around 1952, (what I read) so, which rifle should I buy myself for xmas 2018?!?

  I would go with the .308 the 6.5 is the latest "fad" but the .308 has proven that it has staying power and the ammo will be available at many more places plus you can use 7.62 NATO ammo

• Q: Comparison Pros and cons Ruger precision 308 vs 6.5 creedmore Want to buy it as a fun gun / shtf gun and I like it the 6.5 sheets further put 308 would be a more common animal and more readily available anybody have any opinions on which one

  Accuracy is even for each cartridge's effective range Mike. As you stated the 308 is a staple round that is very versatile, accurate and can be found everywhere at a moments notice. The 6.5Creedmoor will buck wind and have way less drop past 500 yards so your choice should be decided by the distance you will ultimately shoot. That said, I would choose the 6.5.

  Ruger site does not list a 18004 It is a older version the handguard is different the 18004 is "Equipped with a Ruger Precision Rifle™ Short-Action Handguard for improved scope clearance for long-range scopes" the 18024 has the M-lok handguard "15" free-float M-LOK® handguard is made of hard anodized aluminum and features M-LOK® slots on all four sides for improved scope clearance for long-range scopes and easy mounting of M-LOK® compatible rails and accessories. "
