Each 90-grain projectile features a copper jacket, zinc core, open tip, and flat-base design for consistent performance. The reloadable brass case offers added value for reloaders, while the published ballistic data is based on a 16-inch barrel, producing a muzzle velocity of 2,550 feet / second and muzzle energy of 1,300 foot-pounds.

Purchased 200 rnds...
Purchased 200 rnds each of both .300 BO and 5.56 Barnes Range AR ammo. Good price and quick delivery with reasonable flat rate charge. Ammo shot really good. 52 gr 5.56 was same POI as some 55 grain lead loads. The 90 gr .300 stuff shot a higher POI than Remington 120gr OTFB. Shot AR500 steel gongs at 160 yds and it didn't make any kind of mark. The lead 5.56 would dimple the steel. All in all this seems to be typical quality Barnes ammo with the plus of being lead free and nontoxic. For our little slice of wildlife paradise, being able to shoot quality nontoxic ammo for practice is huge. THANKS BARNES! Note of caution though on shooting critters. The zinc bullets seem to be considerably more frangible than lead. Coyotes maybe, but I would never use as a deer load.
