Product Overview

Hornady Subsonic XTP .45 ACP ammunition combines a 230-grain XTP hollow-point bullet with subsonic performance for reduced report and dependable close-range defensive capability. The XTP bullet uses a gilding-metal jacket, long jacket grooves, a flat profile, and a patented Flex Tip insert in the hollow-point cavity to promote reliable expansion at lower velocities. Each brass-cased cartridge is loaded to standard pressure and packaged in a 20-round box.

I have 3 mags ready to...

I have 3 mags ready to go with this ammo.One in the firearm.With a 20% lose in hearing,I love this subsonic ammo.Wish I had it 20 years ago when I lost it.I will put my life on this ammo.

Shot very well through...

Shot very well through my suppressor with no feeding, firing, or ejection problems. Accuracy was excellent. I have not tested the bullet expansion on any mediums, but Hornady bullets that I have reloaded in my rifles all worked as advertised. I've only had good experiences with Hornady ammo and reloading components.

When it comes to self-defense ammunition Hornady is right there with the "big dogs". Would be hard pressed to find better. I could do without the use of the term "Subsonic". Guess their advertising crew had a bad day. But everything needs a catchy name or phrase now....so why not.
