A: If you shotgun does not have a fixed choke, it is not a good idea to shoot anything without a choke tube installed. If your shotgun does not take choke tubes, then you are ok. Also, you can shoot these in a rifled barrel, but rifled slugs are usually shot through smootbore barrels. Sabot type slugs are for rifled barrels. Stay safe & have a great day!

I have both AR 12 style and Bullpup 12ga shotguns and the trick I use is to store the firearm with the bolt locked back, which seasons the spring and greatly reduces the so called 1300 plus fps break in period. A: Hi Jason and welcome. I have through both my GeForce Bullpup and VR-80 AR-12. The bolt springs are stiff which is why break in of 1300 fps or higher is recommended. The trick to mitigate this break in period is to store your AR-12 or Bullpup with the bolt locked back which seasons the spring to allow lower power loads to cycle. Cheers and stay safe!
