The Magpul M-LOK 5 Slot Polymer Rail Section is a lightweight, injection-molded accessory rail designed to mount directly to M-LOK handguards and forends. It provides a 1913 Picatinny spec interface for attaching common rail-mounted accessories such as lights and vertical grips, with beveled ends to help reduce snagging and sharp edges.

I had a front handgrip...
I had a front handgrip I really liked but it required a picatinny rail and I had an M-Lok front handguard on my new carbine. This little item enabled me to mount it even given limited "real estate". As they say, fit for purpose.
