EGW’s 1911 X-long hammer strut is a machined replacement part designed to keep the hammer under mainspring tension even when the hammer is in the hammer-down position. Its improved radius helps prevent the strut from contacting the sear spring and helps avoid interference with most grip safeties on Government and Commander pattern 1911 pistols.
