The NcSTAR TMP1522 barrel nut wrench is made to tighten or remove the factory Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 .22 LR barrel nut. If the barrel nut has loosened over time or you are swapping handguards, this tool provides the correct tooth interface to engage the barrel nut and the opposite-side flats to help you loosen or tighten it during maintenance and accessory installs.

I made this purchase for my Smith and Wesson m&p 15-22, after hearing about the barrel coming loose after being fired.
