Description
Product Overview
The Adams Arms Tactical Evo Base Pistol is a compact AR-style pistol built around the company’s short-stroke piston operating system. Its 7.5-inch Government-contour barrel is made from 4150 chrome moly vanadium steel and finished with QPQ Melonite for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance. The 1:7 twist rate and 5.56 NATO chamber support both 5.56 NATO and .223 Remington ammunition. Forged 7075-T6 receivers provide a durable foundation, while the four-inch Samson Evolution free-float rail offers accessory mounting space without adding unnecessary bulk. The flat-top upper receiver includes a continuous 1913 Picatinny rail and T-markings for repeatable optic placement. A three-position adjustable gas block allows standard, suppressed, and off settings. The pistol includes an A2 grip, standard GI trigger, A2 flash hider, and one 30-round GI aluminum magazine. Factory standard models do not include iron sights or a stock.

This pistol is...
This pistol is excellent in function and accuracy however I did experience, upon firing the weapon every 4-5 rounds the bolt would not go completely into battery. Sometimes just after 1-2 rounds. Pull the trigger and click. This occurred multiple times and I found that it was necessary to advance the forward assist to put the bolt into full battery. I thought it may be a magazine issue or just needed breaking in OR the bolt and carrier may need to be stripped and cleaned OR there was a chamber burr or barrel extension anomaly. It was none of these and after 300-400 rounds the issue persisted. Called Adams arms and they said try just breaking it in with brass case ammo. I thought that was not a valid reason but did so with exactly the same results. As a last ditch effort before instituting a return, I thought about the whole operating system and what might be causing this. Since I do have other piston drive ARs I noticed they are completely devoid of this issue but what was different about those? None of those have a bolt spring. So lo and behold I removed the spring off the AA evo pistol bolt and BAM! 100% function with several different mags and a couple hundred more rounds brass and steel. I know AA says the spring insures lockup more reliably than without it but in this case it is a hindrance. It remains off the bolt to this day and STILL has yet to malfunction otherwise the gun is tip-top. Hence 4 stars because I had to figure this out and should not have had to.

This is a great ar...
This is a great ar pistol! I got it on Friday and went right to the range. I put 500 rounds of Wolf 55 grain hollow point steel cased through it with out 1 FTF or FTE. But in the description it says it comes with JP Enterprises fire control group, and ambi safety selector. It doesn't so I guess that's the only downfall which is fine with me. But if your looking to get an ar pistol this is definitely the best bang for the buck
