As a followup to my...
As a followup to my earlier review, I just got my 30X back from Beretta and they said they could only get it to jam once with my mag and not at all with some of their own mags, so they swapped out my mag and sent it back. I took it to the range and got 4 - 5 rimlock jams with every other mag of ammo using Fiocchi 73 grain FMJ's just like before I sent it to them. In the Beretta 30X TOMCAT group on FB, I am not the only person telling the same story, so I guess it's comforting to know that it's not just me. Or is it? I've given up. I cannot in good conscience sell this Jam-O-Matic to another human being and I cannot trust this thing to reliably fire more than the first shot. It's a $355 paperweight. I will never, ever spend another dime on a Beretta product again. As always, Bud's was an honest actor and bears no blame for Beretta's failure to stand behind their product. Bud's has always provided fast, friendly service.

I took my new 30X to...
I took my new 30X to the range and shot 200 rounds of PMC 71 grain FMJs and I experienced an average of three rim-locks in roughly three out of four magazines. Needless to say, I was underwhelmed, so I took to chat rooms for advice. After people telling me to give it a break-in of about 200 rounds and to use Norma 73 grain FMJ (a.k.a. unobtainium) or Fiocchi 73 grain FMJ, I went back to the range and shot another 100 rounds of PMC Bronze 71 grain FMJ and 100 rounds of Fiocchi 73 grain FMJ. After a total of 400 rounds, I'm still getting rim-locks in three out of four magazines requiring me to smack the back of the slide with the heel of my hand to jar the round loose from the mag. I called Beretta Customer Service and a very friendly fellow directed em to a web form to request warranty service. After submitting, it gave me a prepaid UPS shipping label and I just got back from the UPS Store where I dropped it off. We shall see if they stand behind their product and of they do I'll upgrade this review. BTW, Bud's is in no way responsible for this and their service was incredible as always.
