Its ergonomic Vertec-style grip profile provides a comfortable, controllable hold, while the X-treme S double-action and single-action trigger system offers a smooth firing experience. A skeletonized hammer, ambidextrous safety and decocker, and factory optics-ready slide add practical performance features for personal defense and everyday carry. The pistol feeds from a 13-round magazine and accepts one additional round in the chamber.

I own several pistols...
I own several pistols chambered in .380. I also have a few chambered in 9mm. I recently did a series of 'shoot-offs' with a selection of my pistols at my favorite range, testing accuracy at 5- and 7 yards, shooting double-tap and bullseye. The three most accurate results were obtained with a 'Cajunized' CZ P-01, a Girsan Hi Power clone and the Beretta 80X. My favorite was the 80X, primarily because of less recoil and the sensation of less pain to my hands. I also ran different brands of ammo, both FMJ and JHP, with no failures with any of the three pistols. I will next try the Underwood .380+P JHP in the 80X. If all goes well that combo will be my defensive weapon. To my eyes, the Beretta 80X is a beautiful piece and fits well in my large hands. N.B., influencing my conclusions are an injured thumb and my age, 87.
