Colt Delta Elite 10mm Stainless Steel Pistol

It's been a few months...

It's been a few months since I bought this, and I am ready to review. I lucked into this, or rather unlucked into it depending on how you look at it. You see I put the standard model on layaway, and Bud's took my money for two months, but didn't actually have the gun I had been paying on. They made it up to me however, and sold me this one at cost. This gun arrived at my FFL and was a beautiful specimen of Colt's currently built guns. It looked good, and was devoid of all Colt scratches and dents that seem to happen to new Colt firearms. It only became apparent not all was as it seems when I went to field strip it at home. The slide stop was hard to remove from the gun for one. Secondly, there was a burr on the feed ramp. Thirdly and the most egregious problem, was the safety was not properly fit to the gun. The safety would not engage fully unless forced, and you could feel it catching with your thumb on the hammer. Now these are all problems that are easily fixed, but my gun should have never passed QC. It should have never left Colt. I contacted a representative of Colt's Custom shop, and he had a label sent to me. Colt I will admit fixed the gun for me at no cost to me, but they also sent me back a brand new unfired 1k dollar gun with a huge ugly idiot mark on it. While it will not stop me from buying the Colts I love, it was the last time I would ever send them a gun for repair. Luckily I knew how to match the factory finish and the idiot mark was polished off. The gun works now and is accurate. I would buy another, but just not let Colt work on it.
