A: You cannot Adam since the diameters of the 9mm and .40 barrels are not the same (bushing is a fixed bushing and the upper barrel locking lugs would also be different ) in stock configuration. EFK Firedragon used to make a down conversion 9mm barrel but it is now discontinued. When the EFK Barrel was available, you just needed a lighter recoil spring and 9mm magazines. A: The slide for the 9mm and 40 cal are different. The 40 cal slide is bigger and has a full length guide rod. The 9mm has a shorty guide rod and a reduced width at the end. The 40 cal barrel is .550" dia. and the 9 is .500" dia. The 40 also has a different "kidney" where the barrel ramps for lockup. The only conversion would be the Kadet 22 cal conversion.
