The build quality of...
The build quality of CZ weapons is great, and this one is no exception. Arrived a little stiff and dry. Took it apart new, cleaned it with Hoppees #9, and put it together. I cycled the action and trigger about one hundred cycles and then took it to the range. I ran 200 rounds of cheap 9mm through it, with 100% reliability. Trigger isn't as good as my Shadow 2, but better than almost any of the striker fired weapons. DA pull is long and a little heavy, like one would expect in a LE weapon. SA pull was very nice with just a touch of creep followed by a clean break. I didn't expect I'd shoot this weapon as well as my Shadow 2 and I didn't, but I wasn't too far from that mark. Grips, for a polymer lower, were actually quite good. I had to swap to the medium backstrap, and then it fit me like a glove. I think I'll put some Talon grips on it, but I had no issues with grip texture/friction. \\r\ \\r\ Don't get me wrong, I'm a CZ fan and love the Shadow 2 and other CZ-75 variants, so I do have some bias. That said, this weapon shoots well out of the box and appears to be reliable from the start. This is a great weapon for home defense or external carry. If you like the various CZ-75 variants, you'll love the P-09. It is a winner, right out of the box.

Range trip #1 complete...
Range trip #1 complete with this new CZ. I owned a CZ75B years ago and silly me sold it since I was a "45acp guy". Fast forward, I was looking primarily for a range gun for plinking and also available as a home defense firearm. Home-bound with the Covid-19 Pandemic, I ordered the CZ P09 Suppressor Ready pistol from Bud's without ever handling one. Did my research online and watched many videos praising the P09. Coming from a 1911 (primarily) and M&P background, the CZ's DA/SA is a new beast for me. I took my M&P 40 with the 9mm barrel installed and P09 to the range today. Impressive performance from the P09! I shot it better than the M&P that I've had for years. The M&P has an Apex trigger and a few other modifications to improve the action, but the CZ P09 has been upgraded with the M-CARBO spring kit and polishing modifications....so I guess they are about equal in regards to action smoothness. After the initial range trip, I'm honestly debating selling the M&P to purchase a P07 for carry. I started my new gun quest looking for an M&P M2.0 PC CORE model to add an optic sight. That model was cost prohibitive at this point so the CZ P09 got the nod over all the others including the P10 Optics Ready. Long winding story but I am very impressed with the P09 pistol. First shot at about 7 yards was just off the bull's eye; the remaining 20 shots hit within a 3" group at a rapid fire rate. I was worried the high suppressor ready sights would be a problem...NOT. I really like this pistol. For reference, I normally wear a L/XL glove and the Medium grip insert feels perfect. I'm on the fence for grip tape; that decision will come after a few more range trips, especially after summer hits. Years ago I competed in IPSC/USPSA competitions with standard and hi-cap 1911's....wish I had the CZ P09 back then! If you've been debating, stop and buy this CZ! I'm back on the CZ train, just trying to decide which will be my next.
