Product Overview
The Dan Wesson Specialist Distressed is a full-size 1911-style pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Its steel frame and five-inch barrel provide the weight and stability associated with a traditional Government-size 1911, while the hand-weathered Distressed Duty Finish gives each pistol a rugged, worn-in appearance. An integrated accessory rail supports compatible lights and lasers, and fixed two-dot sights provide a clear aiming reference. The single-action trigger, ambidextrous manual safety, and grip safety complete the classic 1911 operating system.

I have owned this...
I have owned this pistol for nearly a month. I have not had a chance to shoot it yet due to the extreme cold and lots of snow. After having it only a short time I was breaking in the thumb safety, it was very stiff and while doing this one of the grip screws head snapped off. I was able to unscrew the broken shaft out of the bushing without any problems. I contacted Buds through the chat option and they told me Dan Wesson has a five year warranty on their firearms and gave me their number. I went to Dan Wesson's site and emailed them on a Sunday. I called them the next day and got through to their customer service in only a couple of minutes. I spoke to them and they had already responded to my email and told me they would mail out two new grip screws the next day. I just had to give them my address. My grip screws arrived on Saturday. I replaced the broken one and it's as good as new and I have 1 extra screw just in case. I field stripped, cleaned, and lubricated my pistol and it was very tight fit. I could not find any machine marks at all, it was perfect! It went back together without a hitch! I manually cycled fmj and hollow point ammo through it and had no problems at all. I am looking forward to getting out and shooting it! My experience with Buds and Dan Wesson was top notch and I am very pleased with both of them. I recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a tactical style 1911. The fit, finish, and feel is one of the nicest 1911's I have owned, and I have owned at least 20 1911's over the years.
