A: Hi Jasvir, it is legal in Texas as configured. It is also legal to put a pistol brace on it, but if you add a stock, you turn it into a SBR. That would require registration with the ATF and a $200 tax stamp BEFORE you are in possession of the stock. Just add a brace and you will be fine. Stay safe & have a great day!
