This gun was purchased because it is simular to the pistols my agency issues. I was carrying a gen 3 for the last 25 years prior to purchasing this gen 5. I gave that gun to a good old friend. I did put night sights and a tungsten guide rod on mine as soon as I got it. Glocks just work. No external safety to manipulate in the heat of battle. Lots of aftermarket stuff if you want to do that. I have put nearly 1000 rounds through mine already. Not 1 failure so far. That's why I carry it.

I took this good...
I took this good looking flat dark earth Glock 23 gen 5 to the range and popped off 60 rounds of 165 grain 40 S&W ammo. The gun fired accurately and smoothly with easily managed recoil. The .40 caliber snappiness is well under control, and I got back on target quickly. I do intend to replace the factory sights with true glow night sights. One thing I found strange was the backstraps they sent me with this firearm are black even though the frame is flat dark earth. Once I installed the backstrap with the beaver tail I decided it's a good looking contrast. I have ordered a G23 gen 5 holster and this gun is going to be my primary EDC.
