This is the second HK...

This is the second HK I have bought, the other being a 9mm P2000 I have owned since 2016. Not surprisingly the ergonomics arethe same besides the smaller size of the SK. I bought the .40SW to add to my EDC rotation and the gun is in the middle of its' 500 rounds with no malfunctions probationary period. Reliability has been perfect so far and it handles recoil better than my Glock 27, which did not surprise me as the 9mm HK is the softest shooter I have in that caliber, and I own 8 9mms. Shooters seem to either love the feel and look of HKs or they don't. Most that don't usually change their mind in my experience once they shoot one. For CC, I will carry it cocked with the hammer put down by way of the decocker, and the first shot will be the long but smooth double pull. The trigger could be a little flatter, but is still easy to acquire, the paddle mag releases need to be larger, and I have already upgraded to the bigger ones. Two of the backstraps were missing from the case when it arrived at my FFL. I e-mailed HK and they sent out a new XL one that was for a P2000 and didn't fit. I put a Talon grip on it and called it a day. It is the third most accurate handgun I own, the other two being a Glock 30 and a Browning Hi-Power. FWIW, the other guy who has shot it, is more accurate with it than anything he owns. The only con is that it is on the heavy side for CC and the pinky extension creates a printing problem on IWB. Other than those two things, a great gun.
