This is one HEAVY, big...
This is one HEAVY, big gun! Recoil is minimal. Fires nice. Breaking it down for maintenance is more involved than I would care for, but I'm used to breaking down my Glock, which my dog could do with no problems. Overall, decent gun, wish it came with 2 mags and not just the one. Not a carry piece. I'm keeping it as a back up if I have to have one of my other ones in the shop. Some people say it's a good truck gun, I'm not so sure. With its size, you're limited where you can keep it where it's easily available. Cheap enough that I'm not bothered if I never use it again other than the range. Wouldn't buy it again knowing what I know now.

The photo may be showing the first model JCP 40, but this is the new 2nd generation 40 cal that looks identical to the recent 10mm from Hi-Point. Took this to the range and after setting the sights it was absolutely blasting the centers out of every bullseye, each group leaving only one ragged hole. I only have a 150 rounds through it so far but it didn't have a single hang-up. The gun is so big it makes the 40 cal a joy to shoot, even from a direct blowback gun. The new grip texture is fantastic compared to the original model and I appreciate the additional barrel length from the new threaded barrel. If you're already familiar with Hi-Point pistols then you know what you're getting here. There's nothing else like them on the market and they're so much more fun than you might think.
