The Iver Johnson 1911A1 Hawk is a single-action 9mm pistol built in a compact 4.25-inch configuration. Its matte blued Blue/Black finish, Novak LoMount style rear sight, and dovetail front sight provide a durable and practical sighting setup. Front and rear angled slide serrations improve handling, while the extended slide stop and thumb safety provide easy reach. A beavertail grip safety with memory bump, skeleton hammer, three-hole trigger, lowered and flared ejection port, and beveled magazine well complete the classic 1911 configuration. Walnut double-diamond fine-line checkered grips provide a secure, traditional hold.

It seemed like I...
It seemed like I received the Hawk 9 the next day after it was ordered, it was very fast at least. Desired a second 9 round magazine for the 1911, so ordered one through the receiving gun shop. The Hawk 9 has a comfortable hefty feel to it, substantial weight. Not likely a carry weapon because of that. But it will make an excellent range weapon and, for me, ideal as home defense. The weight will absorb a lot of the recoil and make it quicker back on sight. The Hawk 9 is my first 9mm and chose it a companion for my Iver Johnson Arms M-1 carbine.\r \r Thanks,\r \r Jim Wilhite
