Built in Kimber's Custom Shop, the Super Carry Custom HD is a full-size 1911-style pistol designed for dependable performance in demanding defensive and hard-use environments. Its stainless steel frame, slide, and match-grade barrel receive KimPro II treatment for a durable, low-friction finish. The five-inch barrel, aluminum match-grade trigger, ambidextrous thumb safety, grip safety, and night sights provide the control and visibility expected from a premium .45 ACP pistol. Checkered G-10 grips with a bordered pattern support a secure hold during rapid handling.

The Kimber Super Carry...
The Kimber Super Carry Custom HD is a fantastic concept. I had owned one over a year ago, and made the mistake of selling it. So, I purchased a new one and I am a bit disappointed. There seems to have been a decline in quality in just over a year. The black finish scuffs easily. I haven't even shot the pistol or had it holstered, and already there are wear marks where the finish is worn off. The action is extremely stiff for a new pistol. I have owned many, so I know that there is a break-in period, but this is extreme, as if corners were cut in the manufacturing process. Extremely hard to disassemble and reassemble. I have been a Kimber fan in the past, but this latest product has soured me. For what you get it is overpriced, and of low quality. I would recommend saving your pennies and get a real custom from Ed Brown. They are like silk, this Kimber is like sandpaper.
