This is my fifth Les...
This is my fifth Les Baer. I've considered other brands but just keep coming back to Baer. Most people don't realize the amount of work done by hand that goes into these. The checkering and serrations are done by hand with files. The barrels are hard fit the old way. Les Baer builds a non nonsense accurate 1911. This is one is no exception. The extra barrel length makes ringing an 8 inch steel plate at 40 yards pretty easy to do consistently. A couple things I found on this one I wasn't thrilled about. The border of the front strap checkering was off. Looks like whoever was checkering that day got in a hurry. Also (like the other review mentioned) my extractor was loose. It ran fine at the range. I didn't notice until I field stripped it for the first time. I adjusted the tension and went back to range and it still ran fine. Changed the grip screws to stainless to give a little contrast.

Very disappointed. Had to remove extractor and fix because it was loose. Rear sight not level, not even close. Machine marks all over inside of slide. Just not the quality expected in a firearm of this price.
