The Magnum Research Desert Eagle 1911 G10 is a full-size 10mm Auto 1911 built around a precision-cast and machined steel frame with a slide machined from solid billet steel. Its Series 70 configuration delivers the classic 1911 operating system, while the 5.01-inch barrel provides a stable platform for the powerful 10mm Auto cartridge. Standard features include a high-ride beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, aluminum trigger with an overtravel stop, stainless steel full-length guide rod, enlarged ejection port, beveled magazine well, and black and gray G10 grip panels secured with stainless steel hex screws. The gray finish and traditional fixed sights complete a practical, feature-rich configuration for range use and defensive applications.

For a sub $1000 1911...
For a sub $1000 1911 it is excellent. Well manufactured and a smooth functioning gun. The grips have a very course feel. They get abrasive after a little firing. Easily rectified though. The sights are basic combat. They are adequate but could be better. Otherwise the gun is one of my favorite 1911's
