The Magnum Research MR40 Eagle is a full-size .40 S&W semiautomatic pistol built around a durable polymer frame with integral steel rails and a 416 stainless steel slide. Its single-action and double-action system provides a versatile operating configuration, while the manual thumb safety and internal safety devices support secure handling. The hammer-forged 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel measures 4.5 inches and is paired with adjustable three-dot sights for precise windage and elevation adjustments. Interchangeable front sight blades and three replaceable palm swells allow users to tailor the pistol to different hand sizes and shooting styles. A full Weaver-style accessory rail provides space for compatible accessories.

I purchased the Magnum...
I purchased the Magnum Research MR40 after reading other reviews on it. In the case you get with the pistol are two eleven round magazines, two extra back straps and five different front sights. I finally was able to make it to the range and I was not disappointed. The firearm performed as expected, without a flaw. I was only able to run fifty rounds through it but I had no FTF or FTE. The MR40 has a frame made by Walther and is a clone of the P99. It has an ambidextrous paddle release for the magazine and a two stage trigger in the double action mode. The slide is a Magnum Research striker fire design with a trigger decocker on the top, cocking indicator on the rear and round in the chamber indicator. After finding the right back strap the MR40 was very comfortable to shoot and spot on accurate. The only problems that I have with the MR40 are, the rear sights have a wide space between the dots and the guide rod is plastic. In the end I am very happy with my purchase and looking forward to the next day at the range.

Great fit and finish...
Great fit and finish pistol with repeatable high accuracy. Built on a Walther frame with a little longer barrel which provides a great trigger and manages recoil well. Very pleased with pistol but it did have a problem with extractor being too stiff to allow for proper feeding when received. After much inspection I had to reduce the extractor spring height by a small amount to allow proper feeding. With the exception of the one issue present at delivery, it has ran well.
