Took the gun to the...
Took the gun to the range today. put 150 rounds through it. in the first 50 rounds I had two failures to feed and two extraction problems. I don't know what you call the piece that holds the firing pin in but it slid down at one point and locked up the gun. I had one magazine (after market) that would partially eject when firing. ( I had other problems with this magazine in other guns so I can't fault the RIA). All problems were gone after that. the gun ran flawlessly after that. It grouped in 4 inches and about three inches low at ten yards. I fired Winchester 230 ball and Remington 230 ball. I also fired 7 rounds of golden saber and it ran great with these and hit almost point of aim. RIA recommends 500 rounds for break in. I am very satisfied with the gun, for $459.00 it is a great bargain. the quality of fit and finish is high. The feed ramp is highly polished and the matte bluing and silver cerecoat finish is very nice. I'll put another 200 rounds through it at a later date and if there are no problems I will feel confident to use it as a carry gun. the only problem with the gun is there is a small burr on the safety grip that cut into the web of my hand, a little filing took care of that. This is my second RIA pistol I have a 10mm tac II and it is awesome. I would buy this gun again.

Excellent gun at this...
Excellent gun at this price point. It had to be stripped down and cleaned properly, but that should be done anyway. Extremely happy with Buds, and will order from in the future.

this is my first GI...
this is my first GI model 1911, but I also own 3 other 1911's from RIA and love them. I must say im not happy with the trigger on the GI model, and other than having it covered in grease I would say it shoots pretty good out of the box after being cleaned. Like I said on a personal note im not a fan of the Trigger on the GI model and plan on upgrading it, hopefully that will improve it. Buds was very good at the shipping so im content with that.
