Rock Island Armory PRO Ultra Match HC .40 S&W Black Parkerized Pistol

A: Ben, Para 16 mags will fit but are finicky. I would stick with the Rock Island Mags for reliability until more options surface (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7TeJPtKP1U) ----- https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/26_27/products_id/35339/MAG+ARMSCOR+A2+1911+40SW%2F10MM+16RD

A: Chris, you would need the barrel, 9mm magazine, and 9mm extractor to be reliable.

A: On 1911 pistols there are 3 slides. One for 45, one for 40 and one for 9. You'll need a complete upper to do it.

A: yes it can be converted to 10MM you will need a barrel (fitted) and a recoil spring (22lb) I sent mine to RIA and they did the conversion for me now I can switch between 10mm and 40S&W by changing the barrel and spring and I am still covered by the RIA warranty If I remember correctly it was less than $200.00 for the parts and fitting

A: Dan, if you already have the pistol, yes it can with a barrel and recoil spring minimum of 20lb. If you do not have the pistol yet, since there are so many 40S&W level downloaded 10mm ammunition available, I would just get the 10mm version and save the expense. Both 40S&W and 10mm HC models have 16rd magazines and hold 17rds when topped off with one in the chamber. ---- https://armscor.com/firearms/ria/

A: Keith, the RIA here is going to be a top pick. I have it in 10mm and love it! Cheers and stay safe!

A: Keith, if weight/size isn't an issue for you then yes this would make a great concealed carry pistol. I own a rock island armory 1911 in 9mm and it's been nothing but great, very accurate, couple thousand rounds threw it without a malfunction of any kind. It's hard to beat a good 1911. Hope this helps and good luck with your choice.
