A: RIA has a lifetime warranty (which I have used) refinishing the gun will void the warranty If you want to refinish (cerakote) send it back to them Both of my guns that went back for issues (I have 9 RIA 1911s) RIA sent me a prepaid shipping label Both guns were repaired then given a "tune up" and sent back with a extra factory Magazine I highly recommend Rock Island Armory guns

A: they are a dull finish just like the GI versions the quality of the finish is good but it is not a glossy pretty finish I own 7 RIA 1911s including this model mine is more accurate than my $1000.00 springfield (not as pretty but more accurate)

A: Joseph, I own several Colts and two RIA's and the RIA's are as sturdily built as the Colts. Quality and craftsmanship are excellent especially for the price point of the pistol.

A: Check out this Rock Island torture test video on youtube, it performed admirably. RIAs are solid guns, backed by a solid company. Only own one, but it's a nice gun. In fact, it doesn't rattle like a Colt.

A: It would really depend on where the bullet impacted and the range it was shot from. If you want a gun that looks like a work of art and shoots goo go for a nice Colt. If yo like me want a working gun with a OK fit and finish but that shoots lights out go with the RIA tactical II or ultra series guns
