A: Hi David, They both have the 5.5 Bull Barrel. The Threaded one just makes it so you can add a Suppressor to it. Thats the only difference.

A: the only difference is that the 40126 has a threaded barrel. the reason to select it over the 40103 would be the ability to put a suppressor or other muzzle device on it. the threaded barrel may also slightly enhance resale value.

A: David, if you have no intentions of later adding a suppressor, other type muzzle device or selling the pistol, there is no benefit whatsoever. The added cost would be an un-necessary expense. If you do plan to do either of the above, it will be a Major benefit.

A: John, Options I've been considering: - Burris Fastfire 3 (3 MOA dot or 8 MOA dot) - Vortex Venom (3 MOA dot or 6 MOA dot) - Primary Arms Micro Dot (2 MOA dot). The PA dot is about half the street price of the other options. I'm mainly considering it because I have one on my wife's M&P 15-22 that's held up well over a few years of use, and I might use it as a "take off" and upgrade the red dot on that rifle instead.

A: John - I personally go for the Vortex (Venom, or Viper) every time. I like buying something that works well, and the comfort of knowing it has a "no questions asked" lifetime warranty, and comes from a company with great customer service if you ever need it. Lots of good red dots out there these days for sure, but I've come to believe Vortex offers the most value for your buck.
