Ruger Redhawk 05529 Compact 2.75-Inch Barrel .357 Mag Stainless Revolver

A: Hi RJ and welcome. Yes, the Ruger Redhawk 05529 compact 2.75-inch barrel .357 Magnum revolver can fire without moon clips. Moon clips act as a convenience for faster reloading and extraction, but they are entirely optional for firing. Cheers and stay safe!

A: No, moon clips are not required to load and fire ammunition in the firearm associated with UPC 736676055296. This UPC corresponds to the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan (Model 5529), which is an 8-shot revolver chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special. Because .357 Magnum and .38 Special are traditional rimmed cartridges, the rims automatically head-space on the cylinder edge. You can load, fire, and extract individual cartridges perfectly fine without clips. Why did it include moon clips? While they are not necessary for operation, the gun ships with three full moon clips. In a rimmed revolver like this, they are provided purely as an optional accessory to act as a high-speed loader and ensure all 8 spent casings are ejected simultaneously

A: Yes, the Ruger Red-hawk 2.75-inch barrel and can fire without moon clips. Moon clips act as a convenience for faster reloading and extraction, but are definitely optional for firing.
