Extremely satisfied....
Extremely satisfied. Straight out of the box, I disassembled the slide and cleaned it up and lubricated it. Out of the box it is very oily. Then I read the instructions on the factory laser. I put it in the safe for a couple of months. Fast forward. I purchased 2 more factory mags, and decided "today is the day" I had 10 boxes of Federal Ammo ready to go. I took my friend to the range and we ran 500 rounds through the gun in about 6 hours. As I was shooting 2 magazines he was reloading the other 2. We alternated back and forth. No rush. The factory laser was pretty close. No jams, no misfires, no problems. The sights seem close. I am not an expert shooter by any means. No disappointments. I took it home and disassembled it. It was fairly dirty (but that isn't the guns fault). Overall I am very satisfied. Mine has Novak sights. My eyes are OK, but I am going to swap the sights for optic sights. I need the contrast. (I put Williams on my MP Shield 2.0) Also, when I disassembled the gun for cleaning, I noticed it was easier to remove the main spring (?) and after about 250 rounds it was easier to rack the slide. I think it is breaking in. It has FIRM recoil. I thought it was going to be HARSH. I am not a speed shooter, so I can't comment on follow up. It is a heavy gun, so that helps with recoil. I have the gun disassembled and I am polishing it to a mirror finish. No regrets buying this SR1911. I am not going to modify it other than fiber sights and an external polish to mirror finish.
