After quite a bit of...
After quite a bit of research, bought this firearm as a junior companion to my Springfield Armory TRP Operator in the same caliber. I based my decision on reviews and comments as well as on my experience with the other Ruger firearms, bolt and semi auto rifles, center fire and rim fire revolvers and center fire revolvers and semi auto hand guns I own. The gun having been built in the US by an American company was a consideration too.\r \r Out of the box the Crimson Trace laser grips pre installed was perfectly aligned at 25 yards with gun's the three-dot sights, the trigger's take up is acceptable, and although the trigger itself has some creep it breaks consistently at 3.5 - 4.0 pounds according to my gauge; also during the first shooting session the gun has digested so far without any problems 70 of my reloads using Berry's plated round nose bullets and Bullseye powder. Field-stripping and cleaning after shooting was a breeze.\r \r All things considered, I believe the value/price ratio a.k.a. "bang for your buck" of the Ruger SR1911 Commander equipped with Crimson Trace laser grips is excellent and am very satisfied with my decision to purchase this gun\r \r \r \r

I bought this because...
I bought this because I wanted a 4.25" 1911 to carry during the winter. This "Distributor Exclusive" comes with a set of Crimson Trace Lasergrips It was essentially the same price as the exact same gun without the Lasergrips, model 6702. .If you don't like lasergrips on 1911's, then you would want the 6702 model. The grips on my gun feel and look good, and are very comfortable to shoot, They work great, and are zeroed at 25 feet. (Free batteries for life,too). The gun itself is beautiful, with a perfect satin finish. This pistol comes with "everything you need, and nothing you don't" as far as I am concerned. It has a Series 70 firing system and operates flawlessly. Be sure you have a holster that has space for the small laser atop the right side grip. I am using a Yaqui type holster.

This is the perfect...
This is the perfect 1911 in terms of size, price and quality! The crimson laser is just icing on the cake! Ruger turns out another fine product that shoots accurately with little recoil for a commander size. I originally ordered another 1911, but it had some flaws, so Bud's kindly returned it and this was my final choice. I only deal with Bud's, because I know they will work with you!
