A: Hi George, the trigger weight is not heavier. It is the same gun with a different model number, which is MA approved. The SIG SAUER 1911 is equipped with a thumb safety. When engaged, the thumb safety mechanically blocks the movement of the sear, preventing release of the hammer. A "hammer-deactivation device" feature nullifies the 10lb trigger requirement. It also has a loaded chamber indicator, which along with the safety makes it MA compliant. As Randy stated, this gun was submitted & tested to show it complies with MA law.
