The SIG Sauer P220 Legion is a full-size 10mm semi-automatic pistol built around a durable stainless steel slide and lightweight alloy frame. Its Nitron-coated slide and PVD Gray Legion frame provide a resilient finish, while the five-inch barrel supports a stable shooting platform. SIGLITE night sights provide a clear aiming reference in reduced light, and the integral accessory rail accepts compatible lights and lasers. The DA/SA action and SIG Sauer four-point safety system combine a smooth first trigger pull with passive internal safety features and a decocking lever. Two 8-round magazines are included.

I own other Sig Sauer...
I own other Sig Sauer pistols, to include Legion series, so my expectations were very high. I knew that I wanted the Sig Sauer P220 Legion 10mm, but I regretfully purchased a Springfield Armory XDm 5.25 10mm, because I was hoping to find a less expensive pistol in10mm and keep my marriage a happy one. For a variety of reasons, I was dissatisfied with it from the first shot. Fortunately, Bud's allowed me to trade for the Sig Sauer. The pistol is awesome! The weight of the pistol tames even the hotter loads. All of the other Legion series standard upgrades make it a pleasure to shoot. The one con is the capacity. 8+1 should almost always be enough, but a few extra rounds would be ideal. I am hoping that Sig makes available an extended round magazine. They have an extended for my P220 Elite 45cal, so I don't see why they wouldn't make one for 10mm. I would highly recommend this pistol, if you have the available funds.

I chose this pistol...
I chose this pistol over a 1911 model because I really wanted a double action option in the 10mm. I am delighted with the pistol. FInding a holster can be a challenge, but Sig Sauer has one that fits and it's very, very well made - Mitch Rosen holster for the 10mm Legion. Pros: fired 150 rounds with no issues in feeding; recoil is very manageable due to the weight; design of the pistol is really well thought out as far as where it rides in the hand and even the stippling on the front of the trigger guard; accurate enough for a combat style pistol - I was able to shoot under 3" at 25 yards with a rest; pistol is pretty well sighted in, straight out of the box. Cons: Trigger has a lot of creep in single action mode. I called SIg and it is adjustable (by a gunsmith) and I think I will have that done later; the combat style sight is great for urgent shooting situations but does not lend itself to accuracy at a distance; their finish may be a little less than robust, per the online forum.
