The SIG Sauer P224 Equinox is a compact .40 S&W double-action pistol designed for concealed carry and backup use. Its controls and operating system follow the familiar SIG Sauer manual of arms used on the P226 and P229 platforms. The pistol features a 3.5-inch barrel, a 10+1 capacity, and a DA/SA trigger system. Its Equinox configuration pairs a two-tone accented Nitron slide with a black hard-anodized frame and Hogue black G-10 grips. A TruGlo tritium fiber optic front sight works with a SIGLITE rear night sight to support fast sight acquisition in bright and low-light conditions. The P224 includes a flush-fit magazine and is compatible with newer P229 magazines.
