Bud's does it again! The Sig Sauer P226 I ordered arrived on time and in pristine condition. After my FFL dealer finished the background check and weapon transfer, I scurried home with my "precious" and got better acquainted with Sig Sauer's flagship handgun. Having bought a Sig Mosquito from Bud's shortly before Christmas, I had plenty of time to familiarize myself with the Sig Sauer way of doing things. I fell in love with the Mosquito as soon as I held it in my hands, and that love solidified on my first day at the shooting range. Since then I've put 1000 rounds ammo down the barrel of that Mosquito and with the exception of one batch of cheap, unworthy ammo, there were no FTF or FTE incidents. In fact, 700 rounds of CCI Mini-Mags cycled through like butter. More importantly, shooting the Mosquito was excellent preparation for the arrival of the P226. First, I disassembled it (old military habits are tough to shake), and gave it a thorough once-over. This weapon is solid and smooth. Obviously produced with the utmost care and precision, out of the box, it would have been ready to go as it had arrived. It was well-oiled, and clean, and anxious to toss some lead down the range. The feel was familiar, but the kick was a surprise. There is a huge difference between a .22 LR and a .40 S&W. The P226 is like bowling with a cannonball! It is incredibly powerful, accurate, loud, and most of all... FUN TO SHOOT! After 75 rounds of mixed ammo (both Brass and Steel Match Hornady 185 grain bullets), I had no FTF or FTE incidents, and every grouping was fist-sized at 3, 5, and 7 yards, and softball sized at 10 yards. At 15 yards, the grouping was a bit larger, but still well within acceptable parameters. This weapon has some snap to it, so it did take a couple rounds to get the feel of it, but all-in-all, the P226 is a shooters dream. Thanks to the team at Buds Gun Shop. I love this gun. It's...
I love this gun. It's a solid built Sig pistol that is a joy to shoot. I took it out and put about 200 rounds through it and it performed without a hitch. The accuracy out of the box was great, so I'm quite happy with it. I've already picked up some extra magazines for it as I plan on using this quite a bit. I've also picked up a 357 Sig barrel to use it so I have both calibers. If you want a solid, dependable 40 S&W pistol, then you need to seriously consider this.
