First a disclaimer -...
First a disclaimer - The following is only my experience; there must be satisfied Legion owners out there! I own pistols by CZ, Browning, Sig Sauer (a 1911), Glock, and Smith and Wesson. Before purchasing the Legion P229, I never found a reason to return a new firearm to the manufacturer. Then to my misfortune, the most expensive gun I've purchased to date, was returned to Sig Sauer TWICE! My disappointments with the gun include: 1. Right out of the box, the barrel had 3 gouges inside, near the breach. (Sig did replace the barrel.) 2. Slide to frame fit is so loose, the slide will rattle if the gun is moved side to side. I feel this will adversely affect accuracy and will only get worse as the gun is shot. (Sig said too bad, the gun is within specs.) 3. When inserted, the magazine is loose and it bothers me when I am aiming and feel the magazine suddenly shift in my hand. (Sig said too bad, the gun is within specs.) 4. With the hope that the loose magazine fit was due to a problem with the magazines, Sig Sauer said to return 2 of my magazines for replacement. I am disappointed that the two gray Legion-colored magazines I sent were replaced by black magazines. When I requested the same colored magazines I returned, Sig said too bad, they don't control what magazine color you receive. 5) When the gun was returned the second time I noticed even the right grip seemed loose. Come to find out that they didn't put the top screw back in!! I know I am "picky", but for the price and supposed reputation, I was hoping Sig Sauer and my new Legion P229 would live up to my expectations. I don't think I'll ever get over my disappointment.
