Though eclipsed by the newer polymer guns, if you prefer a metal/DA/SA, you won't find much better than this as a CCW pistol Buds was outstanding, as usual

I had the chance to...
I had the chance to fire this pistol and I was very impressed. This is my first experience with both the .40 S&W and Sig Sauer. Here are my accounts... When I held the weapon at my FFL, I was expecting a more drastic "melt" on this SAS version based on some of the photographs I've come across in my search. It is actual quite subtle and doesn't take away from the masculine lines of this weapon. It did seem a bit larger than I expected, even though I held them at my local gun shop several times before deciding to purchase. I purchased my P239 as a CCW option. I also picked up a nice Kholster in waistband holster. After bringing my Sig home and trying it on, I quickly decided that this weapon will probably not be my every day carry. It may work well for the Feds outside of their waistband and under a jacket, but I've tried it everywhere from 2:00 to 5:00 at various cants and depths and can't quite find a comfortable place to wear it. It's just too bulky. I may have to try the Khar CW9 next, but I will definitely keep this option in my safe or next to my bed. I get more excited about this pistol every time I take it out of the safe and handle it. The compartment where this P239 resides is rather dark, but it's easily found by the bright night sights that magically continue to glow in total darkness. Even though I've owned a Luminox watch for years, I'm still impressed by the technology. I loaded up both magazines with 7 defense rounds of .40 S&W. I imagine this round will cause quite a bit more damage when compared to a 9mm. After switching out my defensive ammo with some nice Winchester target ammo, I sent 7 rounds 25' down range resulting in a nice ragged hole with a couple of stragglers just left of center. My next seven rounds were double taps with a quick defensive draw. I couldn't find half of my hits, though I don't think this is any fault of Sig. I plan on improving this style of shooting in the near future with more frequent range trips. The affordable .40 S&W round makes it more economical to shoot than any of my .45s. 100 rounds straight out of the box on this trip with no problems of any kind. The P239 feels remarkable in my hands. The aluminum frame is coated in a durable black finish that almost has a polymer feel to it. I compulsively tap on it in disbelief. Despite the boxy look of this grip and frame, the ergonomics are quite comfortable. I get a consistent grip every time. My finger reach is just on the short side, but I have large hands. I used the decocker after chambering the first round to get the 10lb double-action pull. The trigger is smooth with a clean break. I would guess it is much less than 10lbs. I squeezed slowly all the way through and watched the hammer rise and fall in my peripheral view. It surprised me when it went off. The single-action trigger for each follow up shot was very light and hyperactive. The travel is very short with almost no take up. This is exactly how I would want a carry trigger to behave. I'm confident that if I ever needed to confront a bad guy at any great distance, I would have the advantage over any striker-fire pistol. The kick is quite manageable. I'm right back on target for a follow up shot. I could fire this weapon all day. I haven't take it apart and cleaned it yet so I can't speak to this yet. I was just so impressed with this gun overall, that I was compelled to review it while the excitement lingered. I would defiantly recommend this high-quality firearm to anyone looking for a reliable weapon to use in the field.
