After about 6 months...
After about 6 months of breaking in and testing with thousand of rounds, this is a Good pistol in my view. Buy with confidence. The ergonomics of the pistol are good. Your preferences may vary. I found this pistol to point well for me slightly better than my glocks. The grip angle is more standard than a glock. Nothing wrong with glock grip angle by the way. Just different. The function and location of buttons, releases, etc. where in good locations. No major learning curve if you are used to a glock, m&p, etc. the barrel does ride higher than glock or m&p. In fact it felt top heavy at first. With minimal practice and repping, no measureBle difference in split times. No issue noted. About the slide being full size with a compact grip frame. I was planning to buy a full size then put a compact grip frame. Nice buds had one already so configured for less money; $450-ish. Function. Ive got it really dirty practicing very hard high round count with and without lube. No significant issues. In fact, i cannot recall even one jam. There must have been. They all jam at some point. No detectable breakin. It functioned good with whole variety of range ammo right out of the box. When ready to carry, i tested with a batch of golddot i bought for carry. I put an estimated 5k rounds through this one and another 5k through another compact i bought prior to carry testing with defensive ammo. Ive convinced myself it was ready for carry. Tested with plenty of golddot (124gn p) to test carry ammo. Sorry. Did not test others. That will come eventually. Magazines always drop free even when filthy and covered in dirt. Maint is simple. Actually, detail stripping the slide is slightly simpler than a glock. Glocks always had the best extractor design. The sig is similar. There is no firing pin safety button to remove on the sig. its all self contained on the striker assembly. Please understand, the glock and m&p may be a little more involved but all are simple. The sig is slightly simpler. Nice extra but a glock, m&p or even xd is simple enough and acceptable. Parts availability. Plenty of parts. Not as much as a glock but enough to do almost anything. No shortage on getting parts either. Have not had any breKages but should buy a few small parts on hand. In fact, its time to change the springs on both of mine. Magazines are like $50 form The factory. Highway robery. Buy batches of 5 or 10 from Brownels. This will bring the price down to a reasonable $35 per mag. Mags are high quailty nitraded finish. No issues. Mags always drop free even when dry or covered in dirt. Sig voluntary recall. Lots of hype. Have not felt the need to send either of mine in. These pistols have passed stringent tests. Yes if dropped just right from a certain height, these will discharge formulaicly. How high? I did the leg work to find out under what circumstances these were tested and when they fail. I wont say here. You need to satisfy yourself these are safeand beware there are lots of vocal people lighting thier hair on fire on this issue. Try to filter out the loudest if these to get a better picture. In fact, there are a few official reports. Call up sig. they will provide you with all the info you like. Ill leave you with this. How high do you haveto drop a sig p320 x-series (different pistol) so than the tang on the grip frame breaks off? Price. Cannot beat it. I bought both of mine prior to the dod adoption and they were less than $570 then. $450 is a great price. This still rides in my holster as I write this review. Also, buds did standard job of procurement process. No issues there. Hope this helps, Matt

Having shot this gun...
Having shot this gun for over a year now I can say I have 100% confidence in its reliability to be a EDC gun. The trigger upgrade was preformed by SIG in eleven days door to door and it did not change the trigger to any significant degree. The long sight radius coupled with the compact grip is ideal for EDC, and yes it did replace my G19 as my carry piece.
