A: Michael, I have the 365xl with manual thumb safety and yes it is just big enough to rest your thumb on. At first it was a little stiff to engage/disengage but after using it awhile it has gotten alot smoother. Now I can easily manipulate it with my thumb. Hope this helps.

A: Probably best to look at one in a shop to decide that. Everyone's hands are different. I can't use the safety on mine for a ledge, it's designed to be slim for carry.
