The SIG Sauer P556 SWAT Pistol with SB15 Stabilizing Brace is an AR-style semi-automatic pistol chambered in 5.56 NATO, built around a 10-inch button-rifled barrel with a 1 in 7-inch twist rate. It uses a full-length gas piston system with a rotating bolt for reliable cycling and features a Nitron wear-resistant finish with an aircraft aluminum quad-rail for mounting accessories.

This is a wonderful...
This is a wonderful little pistol. It's quite accurate for a pistol. It makes a great truck gun- especially for those with a small trunk like a Jeep. The Stabilizer Brace- sort of useful- but as a pistol to be held with one hand- too heavy and too awkward to be practical as designed- the sights are in the wrong spot to be useful in that configuration. The gun cycles reliably, and is quite easy to clean. Dis-assembly and re-assembly is quite easy. It is quite loud- but you are shooting a 5.56 rifle round out of a pistol. Brownells sells a pistol plug to convert this to a pistol only configuration-i.e.to remove the stabilizer brace.. This is among my favorite of the EBR styled rifles & pistols..Please note that this pistol is very heavy - heavier with a loaded 30 round mag. It's not easy to hold this pistol out at arm's length and fire for longer periods of time. But it is well designed and built. Again- it's an excellent pistol and makes a great truck gun. I do suggest adding a laser for indoor distances.
