As an owner of several previous model M&P pistols, I was excited to purchase the new 2.0 version in .40 caliber. Mechanically the gun is almost identical to the previous M&P versions. The number/size of grip adapters makes it easy to customize your grip size. The grip texture of the 2.0 model provides excellent purchase on the gun. The slide serrations are also much more aggressive than the older version guns. I replaced the sights on all my older M&P pistols and did the same on this pistol as well. The 2.0 model shines in two categories, the grip texture and sizes along with the trigger. The factory trigger is as good as the replacement trigger I installed on an older M&P pistol. The gun shoots well and functions flawlessly. It also fits the holster I had for the older version M&P .40 caliber. The 2.0 version is easy to disassemble and clean. If you own and enjoy carrying and shooting the older version M&P pistols, you will like the 2.0 version even more. I'm very happy with my 2.0 M&P pistol and will certainly consider purchasing other calibers in the 2.0 version. Like most quality manufacturers Smith and Wesson has an excellent warranty, although I doubt you'll ever need it!

I've been a Glock guy...
I've been a Glock guy for a long long time. I hated my sons first M&P version! Couldn't hit the side of a skyscraper with it. Horrible trigger and the rear fixed sight became flimsy. S&W really listened to its customers and this 2.0 version is amazing. I also have the 2.0 compact and love them both. Slowly becoming a favorite :) I recommend throwing on TruGlo sights
