The Smith & Wesson M&P40 LE is a full-size semi-automatic pistol chambered in .40 S&W. Its 4.25-inch stainless steel barrel and slide receive a black Melonite finish, while the Zytel polymer frame helps keep the unloaded weight to 24.25 ounces. The pistol has a 15+1 capacity and uses durable fixed steel sights, including a steel ramp front sight and Novak Lo-Mount Carry rear sight. Three interchangeable backstraps allow users to tailor the grip to their hand size. The standard factory configuration includes an integrated trigger safety, but no manual safety, grip safety, magazine disconnect, threaded barrel, or optic-ready slide. Its 7.5-inch overall length and full-size frame make it well suited to duty and range use.

After much research, I bought this gun as for range use, home defense, and potential conceal carry. Service and communication from Buds was excellent. I appreciate them offering professional discounts. The gun itself is an excellent firearm. It is comfortable, reliable, accurate, and simple. Breakdown and cleaning are easy. It fits extremely comfortably in my hand, much better than the leading competitor. My only criticism is I wish the trigger was a little "crisper" at the firing break point but that may just take some more time for me.
