My SD 40, I love this...
My SD 40, I love this gun. I have heard it said that this was the cheaper version of an M&P, or the cheaper version of a Glock... I've shot both the Glock in 40 Smith & Wesson and I've shot an M&P in 40 Smith & Wesson, and the SD 40 shoots even better in my humble opinion. I think it's the really aggressive grip texturing that helps eat up the recoil far better than it does on the Glock or the M&P. Finally I've heard other folks complain about the trigger. It is not a match grade trigger, but I don't think it's supposed to be. This gun was not bought as a competition gun, this gun was bought to be a carry gun in situations where I wanted a little more than a 9mm. Some of the places where my wife and I hike there is the possibility of wildcats, cougars, alligators, and occasionally even black bears. I find having a 40 cal is a little more comforting when I know that the predators may have more than two legs. I think the SD 40 is a perfect affordable woods carry gun east of the Mississippi.
