I have not shot this...
I have not shot this pistol yet, but after working the slide ( without the barrel ) several hundred times it has loosened up enough to work smoothly and I would expect that this pistol become one of my favorite 1911's. everything about the pistol was in order unlike one of the previous reviewers had mentioned. Thanks Buds for the 180 day layaway.

This is a very nice...
This is a very nice gun, with tool steel parts and some hand fitting. But I do have some complaints. First, I know the slide to frame is hand fit, and it is VERY TIGHT! So tight that when I first rack the slide and let it go forward that it went in slow motion. I took it home, cleaned all the parts and lubed the rails with Lucas gun oil. Took it to the range and had many failure to return to battery. A quick tap to the back of the slide would send it home. Took it home , called springfield and told them my experience and was told to put another 250rds through it. Recleaned and luded and back to the range for another 250rds, now I could get through a mag sometimes, but problem still exist, so now it's headed back to springfield. Second problem, if it is a problem is the rear sight is pushed almost all the way to the left. While it is right on sight, to me it should be center on the slide and still on sight, for a gun this expensive it should be better. Third is maybe personal preference, but the barrel bushing fitment to slide and barrel is rather loose for a gun in this price range. I explained all this to the lady at springfield armory, and she was polite and understanding and made a note of these complaints. So we will see how it comes back. On a postive note, it is beautiful gun and the finish is very nice and seems to be durable as there isnt hardly any marks on the barrel or frame rails for having 500rds through it. I will say if it ain't fixed right, it's headed down the road for one of springfields competators. This is a grip of money to spend and I wanted to give a honest first time experience to anyone looking at this model.
