The Springfield Armory Range Officer Elite Compact is a lightweight 1911 pistol chambered in .45 ACP. Its forged lightweight alloy frame and four-inch stainless match-grade ramped bull barrel provide a compact carry-oriented configuration while preserving the familiar single-action 1911 operating system. Custom thin-line G-10 grips improve handling, and the fiber optic front sight with tactical ledge rear sight offers a clear, durable sight picture. An ambidextrous manual thumb safety, grip safety, Gen 2 trigger, and dual spring recoil system complete the package. Two magazines and a range bag are included.

This is a nice little...
This is a nice little pistol. Shot well. What I didn't like was the ambi safety, best I can figure the seatbelt in my truck would switch it off. When I put it away at night, I'd be like 'holy smoke, the safety is off'. This happened numerous times. Then I picked up a Dan Wesson ECO that does not have ambi safety, and the little Springfield went on to a new owner.
